Info on Volunteering and Donating
The New England Fall Astronomy Festival is organized and run by a committee of dedicated volunteers that includes UNH students, alumni, staff, local educators and amateur astronomers. We are always looking for new interested and enthusiastic volunteers to help with preparation, planning, fundraising, promotion and marketing, and of course manpower prior, during, and after the festival itself. If you're interested in volunteering with the New England Fall Astronomy Festival, please firstname.lastname@example.org.
The New England Fall Astronomy Festival is an Education and Public Outreach (EPO) event hosted by the UNH Physics Department with the help of the University of New Hampshire and support from local businesses, educational centers, and organizations. NEFAF would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors.
We at the UNH Observatory believe that a key element of the University of New Hampshire’s responsibility to the state is to engage the community and provide educational opportunities and outreach to families and citizens in the Seacoast region and beyond and we think NEFAF is a perfect example of UNH's commitment to that responsibility. Since the success of the first New England Fall Astronomy Festival in October 2011, which attracted over 500 guests between the festival’s two days and nights and exposed families from around the Seacoast and beyond to the UNH Observatory and the excitement and fun of astronomy, we aim at making the New England Fall Astronomy Festival bigger and better, but to do that we need support from local businesses and members of the community, like you. As always, the goal of NEFAF is to offer a program that creates an immersive weekend of astronomy-related activities and experiences for children, families, and people of all ages and expertise.
