Incoming Graduate Students 2016
Incoming graduate students (from left to right) Domenico Andreoli, Thomas Brackett, Adam Dukehart, Michelle Salzano, Benjamin St. Laurent, Jason Jung, Tarik Salman, Steven Arias, Chris Sterpka. Not pictured: Julia Tilles and John Parker.

The physics department is proud to welcome the latest additions to our graduate program.  Our incoming class of eleven students hails from four countries and eight states, including one of our very own undergraduates who apparently just couldn’t get enough of the program.  Three of our incoming students have already joined research groups in the Space Science Center, studying lightning with Joe Dwyer and our new faculty member Ningyu Liu, and our CEPS fellowship recipient is working with Marc Lessard. The rest are serving as teaching assistants for the department’s undergraduate program. Our incoming group is already quite accomplished. Collectively they have multiple published papers and significant research experience at universities, observatories, and national laboratories.  We look forward to their careers here and believe you’ll be hearing a lot more about them in the future!
