JUPITER

Here are some recent images taken by UNH instructor, John S. Gianforte.

Jupiter will be at opposition on Friday, August 14th.

The night before the August 15th public session at the UNH Observatory.

This means that it will be nice object to view for the rest of the summer and into the fall.

These images were taken just 30 hours before a comet recently struck Jupiter.

Read more about the comet impact here: Comet Strikes Jupiter!

NEW: A recent image of the comet impact on Jupiter taken with a Meade DSI camera after the August 1st public session. This image shows the impact site rotating towards us into view.
