The New England Fall Astronomy Festival (NEFAF) for 2018 is a GO! NEFAF is back with another fun-filled weekend under the stars. NEFAF 2018 will take place at UNH Observatory on Friday and Saturday, September 14 & 15, 2018. Our special guest this year will be Dr. Fran Bagenal, a Planetary Physicist from the University of Colorado - Boulder and is a co-investigator and team leader of the plasma investigations on NASA's New Horizons mission to Pluto and beyond and the Juno mission at Jupiter.

Saturday, May 20, 2017 - 9:00pm to 11:00pm  ·  Observatory Event

The third Saturday of the month public observing session.  Join us if the sky is clear at sunset.  Or, check the UNH Observatory FB page on the afternoon of the session for a "go-no-go" post.  This will tell you if the sky is clear over Durham.

The Festival begins with the Keynote Lecture on Friday night at 7:00 PM delivered by this year’s special guest, Dr. Seth Shostak, of the SETI Institute—join us afterwards for laser pointer talks under the stars and observing of the night sky!

The Festival re-opens on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM with educational activities, games, safe solar observing, science talks, demonstrations, and raffle drawings and more. Food and beverages are provided for sale by Ramon.

Join us for an informal session with our special guest and keynote speaker for this year’s New England Fall Astronomy Festival (NEFAF). Meet Dr. Seth Shostak, Senior Astronomer at the SETI Institute.

Dr. Shostak is the Astronomer leading the search for intelligent life elsewhere in the universe!
